Town Café is situated an easy 20 minute drive inland from Byron Bay. Nestled in the picturesque heritage village of Bangalow, Town is the perfect excuse to escape from the hustle and bustle of Bryon Bay’s busy beaches. Bangalow is a country gem with a nineteenth-century streetscape of tall, veranda-fronted buildings, shady trees and quiet parks. This restored old country village is home to restaurants, cafes, art galleries and antique shops. Situated at the heart of the character-filled main street of Bangalow, Town is one of the region’s most loved restaurants.

During the day the street-level café ‘Downtown’ is buzzing. Perfect for simple breakfast classics, light lunches or a coffee and cake pit stop. Be sure to settle in for a cup of Paul’s Blend which is bursting with flavours of dark fruits, blueberries, chocolate and toffee. Perfectly matched with the homemade sweets and pastries on display.

Upstairs is home to a slick modern dining experience that offers one of the regions few big nights out. ‘Uptown’, open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, presents a seven-course degustation that combines local produce with creative technique and artistic presentation. Without a doubt, Town offers big city dining in the country!

Owners Karl and Katrina Kanetani opened Town seven years ago when they relocated from Sydney to the Far North Coast region. This husband and wife duo bring extensive restaurant experience from the likes of Quay, Pier, est. and Tetsuya’s. A whole lot of cooking talent for this country town! Karl and Katrina’s culinary talents haven’t gone unnoticed and they’ve been awarded with One Chef’s Hat in the Good Food Guide every year for the past seven years.

With a passion for local produce, Karl and Katrina are thrilled to partner with Paul Bassett who grew up locally in Byron Bay. It’s important for them to offer their customers exceptional coffee, roasted in Australia, and that’s why they’ve worked with Paul and his team from day one.
